Who are we?

international festivals.png

It is a project created to appreciate, promote, and value Mexican popular music as a cultural and historical heritage. According to our research on all available websites and in publications specializing in the choral sector, CoralCun is the only festival in the world for which arrangements are specifically created and sung by choirs from around the globe, accompanied by live Mariachi music. At the same time, it promotes and fosters Latin American music through choral singing, encouraging exchange and interaction among different cultures to create an international network of artistic support.

CoralCun is also a private initiative that covers 4 lines of action in its program: CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL AND TOURIST, whose benefits spread throughout the community.

  1. Culture: Through the dissemination of Mexican popular music, specifically that sung with Mariachi, as a World Heritage, as well as the concerts that each choir offers with repertoire from their own country, enriching us as an audience

  2. Education: Through the educational concerts that foreign choirs and musicians give free of charge in public primary and secondary schools in Cancun, as well as the workshops that we offer open to the entire community during the Festival and that are taught by the same teachers responsible for the workshops to the foreign choirs and musicians.

  3. Social Impact: Through the free concerts offered during each festival to the entire community of Cancún and Puerto Morelos. Another important social impact is that we contract with communities of artisans who create the beautiful carved wooden objects (using wood collected, never cut down) that we present as a token of appreciation and a gift to the choral directors who visit us.

  4. Tourism: Offering an All Inclusive package including 5-star hotel accommodation, food and drinks, transfers, guided tours to Chichen Itza, Valladolid, Cenotes and Tulum.

The CoralCun Festival is designed as a perfectly balanced mix of Culture, Education, Social Impact and Tourism, which has made it possible for participants to enjoy 6 days of intense emotions from beginning to end for 13 YEARS.

Lupita Rodríguez Rojas

Founder and CEO

Coralcun Group

Born in Mexico City, she holds a degree in Tourism Business Administration, specializing in Tourism Economics and Marketing. With over 25 years of experience in teaching and training in various administrative and service areas, her training in Emotional Intelligence has enabled her to develop numerous educational, administrative, business, and cultural projects since 2004.

For over a decade, she has also dedicated herself to consulting in entrepreneurship and personal development, integrating knowledge of energy management and metaphysics applied to human and professional growth. These approaches have generated significant results among participants, who, from a spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and economic foundation, are able to realize comprehensive human, artistic, and professional projects.

This experience gave rise to the project From Dreamer to Entrepreneur©️, through which she currently offers virtual courses and workshops from Mexico to all of Latin America, as well as in-person sessions in Mexico and Colombia (Discover Your Infinite Power). In 2022, she was invited to participate in Spain as part of this inspiring movement.

Passionate about choral singing, in 2010 she joined this activity at the invitation of maestro and director Edgar G. Salzmann, with whom she founded CoralCun Arte Vocal©️ a year later, an organization dedicated to cultural tourism and the promotion and preservation of traditional Latin American music. CoralCun has held 17 events featuring traditional, children's, youth, and senior citizen choirs.

In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, he and Maestro González Salzmann created the international project Iberoamérica se canta en coro©️ (Ibero-America Sings in Choir©), involving 18 Latin American countries and Spain. To date, this endeavor has resulted in the publication of 25 books, 343 musical works, and 83 components across 8 editions.

Growth and the arrival of new projects marked a point of transformation: CoralCun Arte Vocal became Grupo CoralCun, reflecting the unity, vision and collective creativity of its members.

Thus, she has managed to integrate her professional training with her passion for teaching and choral singing, turning each festival into the realization of a great shared dream.

Gilberto Torres Hernández

Project Coordinator

Coralcun Group

Born in Veracruz, Mexico. He studied Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Veracruzana. He has been a lover of choral music since the age of 15, when he debuted in the choir of the Tecnológico de Monterrey CCV high school.

In 2014, he had the privilege of meeting Maestro Edgar G. Salzmann and Lupita Rodríguez, an encounter that transformed his musical perspective, not only in relation to Cancún, but also to the global choral scene, thanks to the CoralCun International Festival they represented. Driven by his love for choral music, he began working as Lupita Rodríguez's assistant, where he experienced firsthand the dedication and effort behind organizing the festival. Three years later, in recognition of his commitment and love for choral music, he achieved a dream he had cherished since the day he joined the organization: he was named a partner of CoralCun.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he has been an active part of CoralCun's musical life. He is a member of NAUI Vocal Ensemble, a male quartet that has captivated audiences at various festivals, including the Yucatán International Choir Festival and the International Festival of Mayan Culture, and was invited to the 14th edition of the Música Libre Festival in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, in 2022. He is also part of Quantum Beat, a youth vocal ensemble that has taken him on international tours in Ecuador and Colombia. Additionally, he is a member of VózEres, a group that emerged during the pandemic and has participated in CoralCun Festivals as well as a tour in Colombia in 2022.
Her life is deeply rooted in choral music, and she is passionately dedicated to promoting it and sharing its beauty with the world. Every day, she seeks new ways to enrich this art form and make it accessible to more people. Choral music remains a constant source of inspiration in her life, and her goal is to continue contributing to its growth and dissemination.
